WooHoo You Can Do

The WooHoo Sistahs' Mission is to have fun with our friends while contributing to worthy causes. We are an incorporated non-profit organization BUT our community involvement is something YOU can do right where you are.... Here's a list of organizations we currently work with or have worked with in the past that you may be interested in:

  • Use www.goodsearch.com as your search engine and designate "WooHoo Sistahs" under "who do you search for" and you will be helping raise money for our listed charities.
  • We contribute and raise funds for the Susan G. Komen Foundation Relay For Life Making Strides Against Breast Cancer--- AND YOU CAN TOO! Our number one cause is support for organizations fighting cancer and researching for cures.
  • We contribute to the Food Bank of Southeastern Virginia--- AND YOU CAN TOO!
  • We donate clothing to the Samaritan House our local battered womens shelter --- AND YOU CAN TOO!
  • We formed TEAM WOOHOO to get in shape and strut our stuff in the Virginia Beach Rock 'n' Roll Half Marathon benefiting theLeukemia and Lymphoma Society --- AND YOU CAN TOO!
  • TEAM WOOHOO also preps us for participating in the Shamrock Marathon benefiting United Mitochondrial Disorders---AND YOU CAN TOO!
  • Through our very own Adopt-A-Soldier program, we have adopted soldiers deployed to Iraq, supported them with care packages, emails, cards prayers and letters and have seen them come home safely --- AND YOU CAN TOO!
  • We painted ceiling tiles in the children's ICU of the Portsmouth Naval Hospital to give them something bright and cheery to look at while lying flat on their little backs during their stays there. We also wrap gifts, volunteer at the annual Christmas party and donate to their secret santa --- AND YOU CAN TOO!
  • Beyond all the volunteering, donations of time and money, the best thing you can do is make sure YOU are taking care of YOU --- eat healthy, take a walk, hug a friend, adopt a pet, smile at a stranger, laugh at yourself --- and for a little woohoo spice, also take time to howl hysterically at your friends!
